NEAR Protocol has announced that its AI division, NEAR AI, is working on creating the world’s largest open-source AI model with 1.4 trillion parameters.
According to a post on X, this is a significant leap compared to the 671 billion parameters of the new Chinese startup Deepseek’s AI model.
NEAR claims its AI model will be more advanced, open-source, and accessible, positioning it as a major competitor to existing models like Deepseek. This move highlights NEAR’s focus on innovation and dominance in the AI space.
This AI model is special as it focuses on privacy and trustworthiness, which was achieved with Phala Network’s help and its Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs). This technology ensures that data and AI processes remain private and secure, giving users confidence in how their information is handled.
