On Thursday, the official X account of the late billionaire John McAfee suddenly became active, almost four years after his demise. The X post stated, “I’m back with ‘AIntivirus’. An AI version of myself. You didn’t think I would miss this cycle, did you? Do not fall for scam tokens. This is the only official antivirus. More information will be revealed later.”
The announcement relates to a crypto coin project called “AIntivirus,” which seems to be an AI representation of McAfee himself.
However, rather than being an appropriate project, it emerged to be a promotional post for a coin on the Solana blockchain. It led many users to believe that this might be a prank set up by hackers.
Despite strong indications that the project could be a scam, a group of investors is bold enough to take a chance on this new cryptocurrency. Many celebrities, including Charles Hoskinson the co-founder of Cardano, have commented on the post.
Hoskinson expressed that he is “happy to meet McAfee again, even if it is just a fragment of him that is incomparable.” Many users on X are happy and showing their excitement and they responded positively to the announcement.
However, some knowledgeable users have warned that the project carries significant risks and the account is been hacked by hackers. As previously many times in the past, John MCAfee’s X account is been hacked by hackers.
