Dubai has launched a special seal to certify the artificial intelligence (AI) companies operational in the United Arab Emirates. This step has been taken to strengthen the partnership between AI companies and its government and to position Dubai as a global leader in AI.
According to authorities in Dubai, the step has been taken on the directives of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dubai Future Foundation, and under the Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI.
The AI Seal is designed to create a network of reliable AI companies that government entities and businesses can trust for secure and ethical AI solutions.
According to the reports, the AI companies with the certification will gain a competitive edge in government procurement and major national projects.
Further, the companies will also be able to show their seal on digital platforms and marketing materials and display their credibility and alignment with Dubai’s AI vision. The AI companies licensed in Dubai that provide AI-related products or services can apply for it free of charge.
The Applications of companies will be evaluated based on: The nature of the companies’ activities and services, the number of employees specialising in AI, current and future projects, and partnerships within the public and private sectors.
Khalfan Belhoul the CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, which oversees DCAI, said, “This initiative will help create powerful partnerships between the public and private sectors, locally, regionally, and globally. It will help drive new economic opportunities by leveraging AI to better serve the economy, society, and the future we aspire to.”
The AI Seal action is part of the “Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI,” a plan that guides the city’s adoption and regulation of AI technologies. DCAI has launched the project to support government entities in assimilating advanced AI systems which will attract global AI solutions and will permit local talent to ensure its continuous advancement.
However, these AI Seals will play an important role in shaping a future where technology will not only be life-changing but also will be reliable.
