Elon Musk'S Grok Ai Can Now Interpret Images

Grok, the chatbot developed by Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI, has introduced a new update that enables the AI assistant that can decode the images. This enhancement allows Grok to perform tasks ranging from analyzing medical records to evaluating video game content.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk stated, “You can upload any image to Grok for analysis, from medical tests to video games! Just tap the + button or paste the image into the entry bar.”

Launched in November 2023, Grok was created to compete with the growing popularity of OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.

However, its usage has largely been limited to X Premium users. xAI plans to expand the chatbot’s reach with the development of a standalone app and plans for free access for all X users.

As reported by The Economic Times, Grok has already been capable of generating images using the Flux 1 model in collaboration with Black Forest Labs.

However, free users are restricted to asking up to 10 questions every two hours and can only perform three image analyses and generate four images per day, according to the guidelines.

Where else, subscribers to X’s Premium and Premium+ plans, priced at $7 and $14 per month respectively, enjoy greater access, with the ability to ask up to 50 questions daily.

Other competitors, including OpenAI, Meta, and Google, also offer image generation capabilities. OpenAI’s DALL·E 3 is a text-to-image tool that utilizes the ChatGPT AI chatbot.

Google has developed Gemini 2.0 which can generate images and audio in addition to text. Meanwhile, Meta launched its Meta AI personal assistant in June 2024, available across all its platforms—WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram—offering text and image generation features.

However, Musk officially released Grok in November 2023 to compete with the AI assistants developed by major tech companies like OpenAI, Google, and Meta.
