Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Director Akash Ambani has recently unveiled an ambitious plan to transform Jamnagar, Gujarat, into a global leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure within the next 2 years.
He announced it during the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Reliance’s first refinery at Jamnagar. At the event, Akash Ambani shared his vision for the future of Jamnagar, he said, “AI infrastructure that we have commenced working in Jamnagar will not only make Jamnagar a leader in AI infrastructure, but will also place it amongst the top rank in the world.”
The event was attended by his siblings, Isha Ambani-Piramal and Anant Ambani, along with employees and their families.
As reported by News18, Akash has mentioned Reliance’s commitment to growth and has also emphasized the important role Jamnagar plays in the company’s legacy, referring to it as the “jewel of the RIL family.”
Isha Ambani-Piramal, also a director at RIL, reflected on the refinery’s legacy and the vision of their grandfather, Dhirubhai Ambani. She also highlighted the significant contributions of her father, Mukesh Ambani, in realizing that vision. Since its inauguration on December 28, 1999, the Jamnagar refinery has been crucial to RIL’s growth.
Over the past 25 years, it has evolved into one of the most advanced refineries in the world, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as the Fluidised Catalytic Cracker (FCC), Coker, Alkylation, Paraxylene, Polypropylene, Refinery Off-Gas Cracker (ROGC), and Petcoke gasification plants.
With the implementation of cutting-edge AI infrastructure, Jamnagar is poised to strengthen its position as a key asset in Reliance’s journey toward innovation and global leadership.
